Steven C - First time Marathoner
Hi Justin
Did my run at the weekend and completed it injury free in 4hr 26 which I was pretty pleased with – was tracking quicker until the 35km mark when legs started to seize up.
Thanks for your help getting me to the start line.
Katie M - Runner
Just wanted to let you know I ran that half marathon a couple of weeks ago with NO knee pain!! :)
Even though I wasn't able to do many long runs beforehand with the new technique I think just being aware of how I'm running and trying to run from hip/quad and not knees helped SO MUCH!
So just wanted to let you know and to say thanks heaps for the tips!
Shelley Wilson - All Round Great Person
Just to let you know many thanks for the recommended shoes for walking (in style!), have purchased a pair and they are working out brilliantly. Thanks also for the modified inner soles that you rushed through for me, as they too are working out well and removing pain from outer shin and the cramps from tight flexors (hope I’ve got that right) in my foot. Really looking forward to all that walking now!!!
Stuart Smith - Runner & Workshop Participant
I attended the Running principles clinic on November 14th 2015 and wanted to thank you and James. My endurance has improved dramatically and I’m running without injury for the first time in years. I’ve run 105km since the beginning of December something I never thought possible.

Sara - Runner
Hi Sarah,
Just wanted to say thank you for all your help. The interval training worked wonders and over the weekend I ran Round the Bays, my longest distance yet. And I was pain free! It's awesome to be running freely again so thanks for your assistance. Now eyeing a half marathon at the end of the year.
Amy Brockbank - Recreational Runner
I just wanted to tell you that yesterday I went for my 24th run and I now run free of ankle pain! I no longer get pain in my ankle during or after running for 60+ mins and the feeling in my right hip has gone now too with the new shoes. Thank you so much for all your treatment and advice :-) it seems that the new shoes have done the trick, along with the running style and orthotic. I am very happy :-) thanks again.
Trish - Keen Traveller & Hiker
Trish has walked many places and recently returned from hiking in India.
Thanks for keeping me on my feet :)
Lisa Hartnett - Fun Loving Runner :)
A massive thanks to Justin for his help getting me to the start line of my first marathon. Throughout my training I've had plantar fasciitis and a jammed cuboid, but with his great advice and tailored orthotics I've been successful in running the 2014 Rotorua Marathon. Thanks for your incredibly professional yet personal service. Couldn't have done it without you.
Ollie Mullane - Footballer
"After playing football for a number of years with regular injuries large and small I was refereed to Justin and told he was the best in the game. Justin did not disappoint and has solved the constant fatigue I had in my calf’s while taking extra care to support my dodgy ankle. Every time I visited Justin he was very thorough, he would ensure I was making progress to pain free footy. I would happily recommend Justin to anyone he provides a great service explains what he is doing and why and takes a genuine interest in you whether you run 2km a week or play professional sports.
Maxine the Muriwaiian

Shelley Gotlieb - Professional Snowboarder

Eric Anderson - Mountain Biker
Tibet - In summary climbing 6 passes over 17,000' (up to 48 switchbacks per pass) and 1200km later it's not for the faint hearted/minded but if you enjoy MTB and do not mind loosing a little weight I can thoroughly recommend the whole experience!
The feet held up very well only giving a little grief on one of the bigger days so a big thanks to your input in helping managing them, I imagine it's only a matter of time and they will be back to normal, maybe a few less miles in the saddle might help!
Anyway Justin appreciate your input it was certainly pivotal in giving me confidence to continue....if you are down in the Waikato give us call and catch up for a beer sometime.

As part of my preparation for the North Pole marathon, I visited Rachael at Big Foot Podiatry on a regular basis. After years of blisters and foot issues whilst training and competing in long distance races, the difference was amazing. I finished 42.2 km in -40ºC on uneven sea ice without a single foot issue - not 1 blister. I am now training for a 250km foot race across the Sahara Desert and consider Rachael & Big Foot Podiatry an essential training partner.
Simon - Triathlete
Coming up to Ironman NZ 2013 with ongoing ITB and calf issues was the challenge I presented to Justin.
He has an impressive athlete list on his website and after a couple of sessions it is easy to see why!
He collaborated with my Physio and provided orthotics to alleviate the pain - they worked to perfection. Did he stop there? Not likely. He provided running technique analysis and a referral to a strength training expert. It's his insight and search for new ideas that is the reason for the recommendation

Hi to all current and perhaps future clients of Bigfoot Podiatry. I felt it was very important for me to write something to say how much I have appreciated the service that I have received from Bigfoot Podiatry Howick.
It all starts from the moment you walk in the door with warm greetings and concern from the lovely Victoria on reception. I don’t know how she does it but she is just so fantastic to everyone that comes for their appointments and treats everyone as being important. Her phone manner is exemplary – there are many companies that could benefit from having someone with her skills on the other end of their telephone!
I have been seeing Rachael Harper as my podiatrist for a number of years and I can’t begin to tell you how much better my feet and I have been for doing so. She knows exactly what to do to relieve my pain and always has helpful dos and don’ts to follow to assist with recovery and continued healthy feet. And the best thing of all is she is just such a nice person to deal with and
They are part of the Howick community as a whole and they support local people in all their sporting and social endeavours. The team at Howick really care about each and every one of their clients and I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone looking for podiatry advice and guidance.

I have been going to Debbie at Bigfoot Podiatry in Howick for several years. I have always had trouble with slightly ingrown toenails which can become very painful and after an appointment with Debbie I can only describe the outcome as “blissful”. I have a regular appointment every month and not only is she an excellent Podiatrist, but a great conversationalist with an excellent sense of humour. She is also considerate, with a personal touch that you don’t always come across these days.
After having been to a series of Podiatrists over the years, I would rate Debbie’s skills as the best I have encountered– she has a wealth of experience and is a total professional. She has a 10 out of 10 recommendation from me.

I was referred to Big foot podiatry by my GP recently with a plantar fascia injury which I had exacerbated by continuing my regular program of 2 rounds of golf and 3 sets of tennis weekly in the hope it would correct itself over time. However this did not happen and the injury became very painful hence my GP's referral to Big foot.My appointed podiatrist was Lauren Peet, who put me on a course of exercises and suggested it would likely take up to 12 weeks to overcome the problem. I am delighted to report that after 8 weeks of Lauren's care, which included 3 or 4 visits, with some modifications in exercises and fitting of orthotics and ongoing night splinting. I am now [after 8 weeks treatment] back to my former regime of sporting activities. I think Lauren at Bigfoot has done a wonderful job, especially in view of my age, being in my 80th year, as I am sure this would suggest a longer than average recovery.
Thank you Lauren at Bigfoot.
Louise - verruca
I was very happy with the treatment Lauren gave me for my Verruca. It was quick and virtually pain free (apart from it being a little sore for a couple of hours that night). Far less painful than the liquid nitrogen I had had applied... After a week I was back to playing tennis and after five or six weeks it was completely gone. Many thanks and I would definitely recommend this treatment.

After years of back injuries, the pains and creaking in my knees were not a surprising addition to the long list of reasons why I "couldn't" run. Fortunately I was passed on the card of Justin at Big Foot, and during our first appointment together when I timidly asked him to be gentle if his answer would be "you shouldn't be running", his response was different to everyone else's... and he was right! Over 8 sessions Justin made my orthodics absolutely unique to that horrid list of injuries and ailments- even the nasty blisters that dermatologists couldn't work out. Most importantly he kept running at front of mind in our work together and showed me correct form to remain injury free. 3 weeks ago I completed my first half marathon in 2 hours and 15 minutes- injury free, and Auckland marathon is next! There has been no "shouldn't" or "couldn't" since working with Justin, except for telling friends and family they definitely should go see him.

Rachael has been giving me regular footcare for the last five years & is an essential component in treatment of small problems & maintenance as well as source of advice when requested. She has a friendly & extremely professional approach & I really look forward to my five-weekly consultations.

Renata Bastos - Ice Fern
I am a New Zealand representative at ice hockey who has had the privilege to be treated by the Big foot Podiatry team.
I came in to see Justin with shin splints that disabled me from running, biking and training on the ice. With only 2 months to go before going to Canada to play for the York University women's ice hockey team, I really needed to get back into training as soon as possible. Justin gave me guidance for training, made me new and customized insoles, helped me buy better shoes and worked alongside the Flexa clinic physio team to get me back on my feet. A month later I am back into training hard to be at the top of my game for Canada!
Thanks to Justin and the whole flexa clinic team, you guys ave been amazing!

I have been seeing Debbie Hill for over a period of 8 years. I have very difficult feet, having lived with arthritis for over 40 years.Until I met Debbie, I tended to limp. Since meeting her and attending her clinic regularly, my walking has improved so much. Debbie is a very skilled podiatrist. Her warm manner and her Professional skills make my monthly visits a joy!
Her relational manner takes away any shyness one may feel about going to a Podiatrist. I highly recommend her to anyone suffering with their feet. Or simply those who may need “feet pampering” now and again.
