Motor Vehicle and Trauma
Motor vehicle accidents cause significant injury to the body and limitations in activity. They lead to ongoing pain into the latter years of life that may require ankle, knee and hip replacements from arthritis. Major fractures lead to leg length differences and disability from the ankle, back and even neck. Some injuries require the fusion of joints that cannot be salvaged in any other way. Joints are designed to move and by fusing them there is an increase in shock forces going through the body. Wearing the correct footwear and redistributing these forces with orthoses (insoles) helps during the rehabilitation after any motor vehicle accident.
Conditions Bigfoot has rehabilitated after motor vehicle accidents:
1. Leg length differences following major bone fractures
2. Foot and ankle pain when joints are fused
3. Arthritis in the foot, ankle, knee
4. Lower back pain from uneven loading.
