Track and Field athletes have vastly individual training programmes and use specific spike shoes relative to their sport.  Their coaches have a difficult task of knowing how much to increase  training loads to improve strength, power and speed without subjecting their athlete to an intensity that causes injury.

These  injuries  are often familiar to Track and Field athletes:
Metatarsal Stress Fracture (foot)
Tibial Stress Fracture (shin)
Medial Tibial stress Syndrome (inside shin pain)
Patella Tendinitis (knee pain)

Bigfoot has worked with a number of NZ’s top Track and Field athletes and their coaches when injury has interfered with their training plan.  Our focus is to reduce impact through the leg muscles by using shoes and orthotics to redistribute the force directed from the foot.

Click here how we worked with NZ’s 1500 m record holder to help her injury recovery.
